Celebrate Nottinghamshire's outstanding sporting success

Central College Nottingham- Young Sportsperson of the Year

Central College Nottingham is the leading provider of Sport and Fitness education in Nottingham. Sport is one of the College's most popular subject areas with courses ranging from level 1 BTEC Sport through to Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching. As well as our academic courses, we also run Sport Academies for aspiring athletes/sports performers and an extensive Sports Volunteering and employability programme to develop leadership and coaching skills. There are many former students who are now professional athletes including GB hockey player Helen Richardson, Premier League winning Leicester City captain Wes Morgan, Bournemouth AFC defender Simon Francis, Harlequins rugby union hooker Joe Gray and England international cricketer Jenny Gunn. Kimarni Smith from the successful Basford United FC Education Academy which is run in conjunction with Central has recently signed for Sheffield United FC.
